One of the most diverse avian populations and cultural landscapes may be found in northern India.
The Taj Mahal, a marbled mausoleum that is unquestionably one of the most magnificent architectural wonders ever created by man, is also located there. It is home to the most iconic animal in the world, the tiger.
During our stays, we visit the renowned Corbett National Park, which is home to a variety of Himalayan animals and offers a perfect setting for spotting the elusive striped cat.
On the other hand, the Chambal River and the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary are prime locations recognised for the abundance of resident and migratory feathered inhabitants that will have you hooked to your binoculars for the duration of the journey.

Detailed itinerary : Tiger Safari and Birding Tour in India

Day 01: Arrive in New Delhi

You will be greeted and received by our agent as soon as you arrive at the New Delhi International Airport. They will drive you to your hotel, help you check in easily, hand you all of your travel-related documents, explain them to you, and make sure you’re taken care of.

Overnight stay at the hotel in New Delhi.

Day 02: New Delhi – Agra (Drive 220 kms/04-hour drive)

After a leisurely breakfast, drive the 275 kilometres (5 hours) to Corbett National Park. Change to a safari vehicle with your luggage at the park’s entrance. The next 32 km, or 1.5 hours of driving, will take you through the heart of the national park, where there is a good possibility you may see wildlife like Tigers, Leopards, and Asian Elephants. So be prepared with your photography gear. Check into the forest lodge after arriving. After lunch, continue on to an afternoon safari.
The Forest Rest House lifestyle is exclusive to Corbett National Park. You only have the chance to remain inside the national park in Corbett. The complex has a view of the Himalayan foothills and is situated on the Ramganga river’s banks.

Day 03 & 04: In Corbett National Park

At sunrise, start your morning tiger safari in Corbett. The phrase “country of the roar, trumpet, and song” is fitting for Corbett. It depicts a breathtakingly beautiful scene. The launch of Project Tiger in India was held at Corbett National Park, which is a proud distinction. The Reserve’s diverse ecosystems play a role in contributing to its great biodiversity. The Reserve contains both Himalayan and peninsular flora and wildlife as a result of its location in the central Himalayan foothills.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Rest House.

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris, meals, and overnight at the Forest Rest House inside the national park.

The first and best park in India is 520 square kilometres large. Initially created on August 8, 1936, as Hailey National Park in honour of Sir Malcolm Hailey, the United Provinces’ then-governor, the name was later changed to Ramganga National Park in 1952 and then to Corbett National Park in Jim Corbett’s honour and memory. Jim Corbett was a renowned hunter, naturalist-turned-author and photographer who assisted in the creation of the park and in drawing its boundaries.

Day 05: Corbett National Park – Chambal (by surface – 380 Kms, 7-8 hour drive)

Jeep safari to Dhikala zone in the morning. After breakfast, check out of the hotel and head for Corbett’s departure gate. Packing your photographic gear will prevent you from capturing wildlife on your way out. You can pack up your gear as you leave the park and head to Chambal (380 Kms 7-8 hrs).

On arrival, check into the Lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 06: Chambal

Visit the Chambal River in the morning and go on a boat safari while keeping an eye out for birds. Indian Skimmer, Bar-headed Goose, Ruddy Shelduck, Egyptian Vulture, Black-winged Stilt, Black-bellied Terns, Red-crested and Ferruginous Pochards, Sarus Crane, Great Thick-knee, Indian Courser, Pallas’ Fish Eagle, Laggar Falcon, and many more are just a few of the noteworthy bird species we can find here. When the sun starts to get too intense, return to the lodge.

Leave for a visit to the Chambal River in the afternoon after lunch to see more gharials and crocodiles. Regarding reptiles, it is clear that Gharials and Marsh Crocodiles exert their presence due to their large size. The Crowned River Turtle, the Three Striped Roof Turtle, the Red-Crowned Roof Turtle, the Indian Roofed Turtle, the Indian Tent Turtle, the Indian Flap shell Turtle, the Narrow Headed Softshell Turtle, and the Indian Softshell Turtle all thrive in the sanctuary. In addition to them, you may also see Bengal Monitor Lizards darting over the banks. Stay the night at the lodge.

Day 07: Chambal – Agra (by surface 55 Kms, 2 hours drive)

Morning jeep safari to an area well known for its Sarus Crane population. After breakfast drive to Agra (55 km, 2 Hrs). Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel in Agra.

Day 08: Agra – Bharatpur (by surface 55 Kms, 2 hours drive)

After breakfast, visit the famous white marble mausoleum,The Taj Mahal, which was built in the middle of the 17th century by the Moghul emperor Shah Jehan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Over 20,000 workers and talented craftsmen from Persia, Turkey, France, and Italy laboured arduously for 17 years to build this structure, which was completed in 1652. Visit the red sandstone AGRA FORT later, which is surrounded by ominous 20-meter high walls and a 12-meter moat and stands like a crescent on the banks of the Yamuna River. Akbar, Jehangir, and Shah Jehan, three succeeding Mughal rulers, contributed to the construction of this enormous Indo-Islamic building. On Fridays, [The Taj is closed]. Hotel check-out is required.

Later drive to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. On arrival, check into the lodge. After lunch, we will proceed for an evening of bird watching via Cycle Rickshaws at Keoladeo National Park.

More than 350 different kinds of birds live in these various settings, including the Bar Headed Goose, Garganey, Northern Pintail, Cotton Pygmy Goose, Eurasian Coot, Spoonbills, and Indian Spot-Billed Duck. Overlooking the river were Common and Pied Kingfishers, the sly Black Bittern, Purple Herons, Pheasant-tailed and Bronze-winged Jacanas, and the Sarus Crane, the tallest bird in the world to fly. Numerous migrating waterfowl come to the area each year to breed throughout the winter. The sanctuary is renowned for the breeding of resident and migratory birds and is one of the richest hotspots for avifauna in the world. Staying the night is in Bharatpur.

Day 09: Bharatpur

Morning and afternoon biriding in Bharatpur bird sanctuary. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel.

The sanctuary has a 29 square foot footprint. km of scrub forest, light woods, and marshes. Today, it serves as a protected nesting area for a variety of bird species and serves as the winter home for migrating birds. The park is home to several bird colonies, including those of cormorants, spoonbills, storks, egrets, herons, pelicans, ibis, and grey herons. Along with a reasonably diverse population of reptiles and herbivores. Bharatpur hotel stay for the night.

Day 10: Bharatpur – New Delhi (Drive 200 Kms/ 04 - hours drive)

Morning birding at the bird sanctuary. After breakfast, drive to New Delhi (220 Km, 4 hrs). On arrival, transfer to the airport to board a flight back home or to an onward destination.

FAQs on Tiger Safari Holidays

We recommend only booking drives exclusively with your own party.

White and other bright colours should be avoided. Use earthy hues such as greens, beige, brown, and black. Similar to how strong body deodorants and perfumes should be avoided around animals since they have keen senses of smell, both of which might cause the animals to flee. Bright hues might also draw insects.
Since the vehicles are open, it is advised to carry a light jacket even in the heat.
Although it’s not often, light rains can happen at any time of year in the forest, so it’s a good idea to have a rain jacket along with proper protection for your electronics.

Inside, any kind of photography equipment is allowed. However, all documentary/cine cameras need prior authorization, and their costs are incredibly exorbitant. The usage of drones near national parks and residential areas is absolutely forbidden.
